About Our Church
We are one church with two congregations,
loving Jesus and each other in both English and Spanish.
Being one church with two congregations (English and Spanish) is a unique and beautiful way to live life and do ministry. We believe this shows real hope to the people of Santa Maria: when Jesus is at the center, it's possible to be both diverse and united!
Jesus prayed this for His followers: "May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me" (John 17:23). We are working at being an answer to Jesus' prayer!
To help you discover a bit more about us, here are some things we believe are important:
God's Word
Our go-to source for all of life and faith
Love
Allowing God's love to shine in and through us
Our Neighbors
We love all people, but it starts next door
The Next Generation
Kids matter to Jesus and to us
Redemption
No one is too broken for God to mend
Discipleship
Growing more and more like Jesus every day
Worship
Authentically responding to all God reveals
Generosity
Giving freely so others can flourish
Diversity
It deepens and strengthens us
Collaboration
We're better together
Gather, Grow, and Go! This is the way we describe how we're on mission together as a church. It's a simple and powerful reminder of these three truths:
- We GATHER in the love of Jesus
- We GROW in the grace and truth of Jesus
- We GO in the power of Jesus
If you'd like to be involved in one (or more!) of these three areas of ministry, please CLICK HERE to let us know. We'll be happy to connect you to the mission of SM4.

What We Believe
We believe the Bible — God’s Word for all people — is the primary means for discovering God, His plan for the world, and how we are to live in relationship with others. While Christians may disagree about some things (Romans 14:1-6), the Bible makes it clear there are essential beliefs of the Christian faith. At the Santa Maria Foursquare Church, you’ll discover we consistently emphasize these essentials:
The Bible — We believe the Bible was inspired by God, therefore it is completely trustworthy and is without error in all it affirms. (Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
One God — We believe God exists forever in perfect community as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, John 10:30, 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 Peter 1:2)
Jesus Christ — We believe Jesus is God's Son and is fully God and fully man. He is the perfect reflection of God’s character and glory. He lived a sinless life and willingly died on the cross as the only perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people. He rose physically from the dead and returned to heaven, but will return again to reign forever with those who are His. All who put their trust in Jesus are forgiven and graciously given right relationship with God forever. (John 1:14, 3:16-17; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 5:8-10; Colossians 1:15-17)
Sin — We believe all people are created in the image of God, but each one has sinned and has broken our relationship with Him. Because of our sin, we are all in need of God’s salvation so that we can have a restored relationship with Him. (Romans 3:22-24, 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-5)
Salvation — We believe God freely offers His gift of salvation to all people. He promises to remove all sin from those who trust in Him, not because we deserve it or could ever earn it, but because of His great grace and love for us. This gift of God is received by trusting in Jesus Christ alone. Those who believe in Him are made right with God and given eternal life. (John 3:16-17, 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Timothy 2:5-6)
The Holy Spirit — We believe Jesus sent His Holy Spirit to empower His people so that we might live fully for Him and share His good news with power and passion. (John 14:16-17, 16:13; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22-23, 5:25)
“In Essentials, unity. In non-essentials, liberty. In all things, love.”
Augustine
