2018 Camps

We believe in camping!

We believe in camping because it has the power to change a life! In fact, many of us at SM4 have had our lives shaped by camps we've been a part of.

Camping is incredible because it gets us out from what's normal and expected in our lives. When we're camping we jump out of boring routines and the daily grind of life to experience something different — something fun, beautiful, and spiritually powerful.

Jesus believed in camping, too! We read in the Bible how He would often take his friends out on adventures. And it was while they were out exploring (sometimes by a lake, other times on a mountain) that they made some of their deepest discoveries.

And we're fortunate that our Foursquare church family owns Camp Cedar Crest — over 80 wooded acres in the San Bernardino Mountains, between Arrowhead and Big Bear. It is complete with sports fields, swimming pool, meeting areas, dining hall (and snack shop!). It can accommodate hundreds of campers in a beautiful setting.

Each year our youth attend both Winter Camp and Summer Camp, and our children (entering grades 3-6) participate in Summer Camp. We do fund raising to help students make to every camp, plus the church pays for all the transportation to keep the camp costs as low as possible.
