We've raised all the funds for a new
Between Mother's Day and Father's Day 2017, the Santa Maria Foursquare Church was raising $25,000 to put in a new, beautiful Neighborhood Playground. Through savings, doing some of our own labor, and a generous grant from the City of Santa Maria, we were blessed to start with over 80% of what was needed for this $131,443 project.
We're excited to announce that we met our goal!
We actually raised over $28,000 in five weeks!
Construction has now begun on the playground, one that will not only serve the many children of our church family, but will ensure that the hundreds of kids in our neighborhood will have a great place to play every day of the year! (See the picture below of what the finished playground will look like.) The funds we raised above $25,000 will be used to add seating areas around the new playground.
Our hope is to dedicate the new Neighborhood Playground on Sunday, July 16 (watch this page for updated details).
Thank you to the City of Santa Maria! We received a $10,000 grant for the Neighborhood Playground from the Recreation and Parks Commission — and we are very grateful! Pictured above is Councilmember, Etta Waterfield, presenting the grant.
