FALL 2020 SESSIONS!
This September and October (starting right after Labor Day!), SM4 is sponsoring six different discipleship sessions each week for you and your family (and even more in Spanish!). You can join in more than one session if you'd like, and sign-ups aren’t needed — just get the details below and dive in! CLICK HERE to drop us a note if you have any special needs or questions!
1. Tuesdays — Safari Kids — 5:30-6:30 pm — Starting September 8
Safari Kids, grades K - 6, is moving outside during September and October! They’ll be meeting on the lawn on our church campus as they learn to POWER UP WITH JESUS! This will be a fun time of socially distanced games, laughter, and discovery.
2. Wednesdays — Live Up Youth — 6-7 pm — Starting September 9
Live Up Youth, grades 7-12, are moving outside to meet up in person on the lawn on our church campus. CLICK HERE to head over to the Live Up page where you’ll find more information on their socially distanced outdoor fun.
3. Wednesdays — Married Couples — 7-8 pm

4. Wednesdays — Pastors Walk & Talk — 5:30-6:30 pm — Starting September 9
Led by the Mossholders and Gomez’s, we’ll be socially distancing while walking each week on the River Levee Trail and spending time in conversation with any who would like some moments with the pastors. Each week we’ll be meeting at the intersection of Carlotti Drive and Seaward Drive (just a block north of Taylor Elementary — with lots of parking on Seaward!). Everyone welcome!
5. Thursdays — Book Club on Racial Reconciliation — 7-8:30 pm (GROUP CLOSED!)
Do you ever watch the news reports of racism and the related protests and wonder, “what can I do?” Does the Holy Spirit inside you grieve alongside people of color for the atrocities they have experienced throughout history, but you feel paralyzed to understand how that impacts policies today? Are you, yourself, a person of color or otherwise marginalized person and wonder how you can grieve, forgive and move forward with our nation as it seeks to find a better path? Do you wonder how Jesus would respond if He were living during this time?
Many answer YES to these questions, but haven’t had a safe place to process answers in a faith-filled, meaningful way. This book club is for you!
Led by Christie Donnelly, we’ll be reading and discussing the insightful Christian book, Be the Bridge. Written by Latasha Morrison, this book will help us explore God’s heart for racial reconciliation. CLICK HERE to order your copy on Amazon (in print, e-book, or audiobook) before the group begins!
6. Fridays — Street Ministry — 6-8 pm — Starting September 11
For the past two months, George Vega has been leading a team to take the church to the streets each Friday evening — to share the love of Jesus and minister to all they encounter. Now you can join in!
Make your own poster (something positive, declaring a favorite Scripture or truth about Jesus) to bring glory to Jesus on the streets of Santa Maria. Then be ready to pray and share your faith with those God will bring our way. No experience necessary — you can learn as you go! This is for the whole family (kids at least 10-years-old please, to ensure safety around lots of cars).
Here is the list of our ministry locations and meeting places:
- September 11 & 18: Grant and Broadway. Meet @ Straw Hat Pizza parking lot.
- September 25 & October 2: Donovan and Broadway. Meet @ Chevron parking lot.
- October 9 & 16: Broadway and Main. Meeting @ Fallas parking lot.
